A “sunk cost” is what you already paid for something in the past. Seth Godin calls it “a gift from your past self.” You can accept it, or not.
I often hang onto things I own, even though I’m not currently using them, or worse, I wouldn’t buy the same today if given the chance.
For me, this includes websites, clothing, software, books, and how-to courses.
By ignoring the cost of something I own and asking if I would buy it today, I give myself the freedom to let it go. And move on.
Sunk costs are holding me back.
